With the introduction of Android P, Xiaomi released a near-stock build of Android P for the Mi Mix 2S. While we still aren’t sure what the next version of MIUI will look like, it appears that an upcoming version of MIUI 9 will bring a redesign to the lock screen, notifications, recent apps, quick settings, volume panel, and more. Version of MIUI 9 has leaked online for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 (based on Android Oreo) and a few users have taken it for a spin to show off what the redesign looks like. The Mi Mix 2 is equipped with a single 12MP camera, complete with Xiaomi's impressively stable 4-axis OIS system. It employs a Sony IMX386 sensor, the very same found inside the Mi Max 2, Mi Note 3 and the Mi6 flagship. First reported by XDA Developers, the update has begun rolling out, after internal testing by the Chinese smartphone maker. Mi Mix 2S, launched in February this year, was among the flagship phones that were confirmed to receive Android 9 Pie. As part of the MIUI 10 update, users will be able to enjoy features like the redesigned ‘Recents’ menu, camera app improvements as well as app pre-loading, based on artificial intelligence (AI). Besides this, Mi Mix 2S owners will also be able to exercise Adaptive Battery, that adjusts performance as per usage, as well as full-screen gesture support.
